All the 206 bones in the human body function with the help of 360 joints. Most joints work by moving. It is with the help of these movable joints that we can perform many tasks. For example, two jaw joints help in chewing food. 32 joints from the shoulder to the fingertips help lift the pan from the oven with one hand. Bipedal walking requires 62 joints. 20 joints in the neck work to hear sounds and look back. Just as all the organs in the body are important, the joints are also important.
What causes arthritis?
Just like the moving parts in a car need repair when something goes wrong, our joints need your help from time to time. In this, joint pain can occur when there is a problem in areas such as bone, marrow, tissue and fiber, muscles and ligaments, joint friction fluid.
Reasons
The knee joint is where the femur and leg bones meet. It is called osteoarthritis. Knee arthritis is caused by wear and tear on the knee joint due to aging. Also, fractures can be caused by being overweight and doing activities that put a lot of stress on the joints.
Also, due to loss of strength of bones known as osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis affecting small and large joints, knee joint pain can be caused due to spasm and injury in the knee joint membrane and muscles during sports.
Structure and function of the knee joint
The knee joint is an important joint that bears the weight of our body. It is a structure connected by muscle fibers and tissues. The cartilage inside the knee joint cannot withstand the vibrations that occur when we walk up and down the steps in our daily life and bear the weight of the body.
Mode of operation
The knee joint is made up of the femur, tibia and tibia. A knee joint is similar to a modified door bottom structure. It has a rotating system with front and back folding.
Knee joint inflammation
Knee arthritis is caused by the gradual wear and tear of the cartilage in the knee. This is the main reason for knee arthroplasty. With severe arthritis, this cartilage is severely damaged and wears down and breaks down.
In this case the bones will start rubbing directly against each other. This increases the severity of joint wear and tear. Damage to this cartilage can be caused by chronic (a) problems with the underlying tissues or activities that put too much pressure on the knee joint.
symptoms
If the joint has been hit recently or before the pain occurs.
If there is pain in many joints,
if the joint swells frequently,
if the joint often dislocates,
if there is a pain in the joint, or
if we hear a noise with pain,
or if our quality of life is reduced due to pain, it may be a sign of knee arthritis.
treatments
An affected joint can be diagnosed by pain,
swelling and movement of the joint .
A blood test can determine if there are other causes of arthritis (bacterial infection, uric acid build-up, or arthritis).
moderate level
Sometimes an excess fluid in the joint can be tested to diagnose infection or uric acid gout. An MRI scan may be needed to determine the condition of the joint membrane in people with early age joint degeneration. Knee joint muscle exercises should be done regularly to prevent knee pain.
If your body weight is high then you must reduce it. Walking is good for the knee joint muscles, but only for short distances so as not to increase the pain. Avoid sitting with your feet on the floor. Only sit on high seats like chairs. It is better to keep your feet on a small platform when sitting for long periods of time. If you have to sit for long periods of time, walk short distances in between and then sit down. Avoid standing for long periods of time.
If you have to stand for a long time, alternate both legs one by one and stand with each leg supporting your body weight for a while. Avoid cold weather. Avoid placing a pillow under the knee while sleeping. It is wrong to stay completely in bed due to pain or difficulty in walking. Avoid using the stairs too much.
As you continue to perform your daily tasks, give your joints some rest between tasks. Losing or controlling obesity involves doing simple exercises to reduce stress on the joints. Special exercises to strengthen the joint and flexibility exercises to reduce knee pain can be done daily. Dietary habits can be modified. Knee cap can be used for knee joint pain.
